DEJA-VU

What do you think it is?

I have heard and read of many explanations with regards to what people think Déjà-vu is. Some people say that Déjà-vu is the state of awakened memories of a past life. Some say it is the science of the spirit, the soul within our physical frame connecting with molecular information of our past life stored in our DNA under which certain conditions prevail, this, biological information is streamed to the brain, where it is stimulated by chemicals and brought to the conscious mind rather like a sketchy video. I say sketchy video because most people explain their experience of Déjà-vu as being an event that took place where they had an overwhelming feeling that they had been there before, had done whatever it was in the event before, but owing to the lack of complete recollection, i.e. all the details, they could not put their finger right on it at all because of the complete lack of detail.

To go a little deeper into the theory of the scientific scenario, many people connect with this theory more readily as it ties in with the notion that the contents of the video were shot, as it were, in a past life largely due to the fact that the particular person in question has no immediate recollection of the footage from their present life's past. Having lived a previous life, or lives, appears then to make a little more sense on account of the recipient of the so-called, revisited event, being absolutely positive that the event had taken place before, without doubt in their mind, which makes the idea of having lived previously, more believable.

Precognition of a future event before it happens...is the real answer as to what Déjà-vu actually is. It has nothing whatever to do with having lived previous lives at all. Hands up those who had a dream they could not remember; we all have at one stage had one, or indeed, many.  The answer to Déjà-vu lies in the dreams we have.

Paradoxical sleep; the dream-state during  REM - (Rapid Eye Movement) heavier breathing and increased electrical activity of the brain is in effect, our mind pouring over images inspired by events of the day and or incidents which have left an indelible mark on our sub consciousness as we strive to understand them, which our mind plays back on our biological LCD screen inside our brain, pretty much the same method used by a projector in a cinema to project images of the film we watch on the big screen. Hence, the next morning when we awake, we realise that we had dreamt of something, an event, a place, being with someone we knew in the dream, but in real life we haven't a clue who they really are, where we were, and cannot recall the entire dream event. Some dreams we remember perfectly, all the fine detail, the whole thing. Sometimes only small snippets of the dream can be recalled, but far too sketchy to represent a complete picture. Inevitably, we forget the dream event totally, or so we think, only later, sometimes even years later, the event takes place and we have that overwhelming feeling again of Déjà-vu, but we cannot identify the original source to it because it was long forgotten.

I have, for many years, trained myself to remember most of my dreams. I developed a knack of cherry-picking the dreams I was having as those important to me particularly, and those I could cast to one side, or put on the back-boiler to examine later and cast to the four winds those of no particular significance at all. I don't profess to be able to decipher what my dreams actually mean, but I have been able to collate those that would turn out to be dreams of future events in which I would without doubt, visit, act out, in all the fine detail I taught myself to remember during such dreams. I am able to "Watch" as it were, many dreams as though I was a spectator watching a video of myself whilst I am aware that the real me in my bed is dreaming.

I confess to having had an accomplice in all of this; my wife. Within the first year of our marriage I had asked my wife to remember the details of dreams I'd had, giving her as much of the fine detail I could recall. It came as a complete surprise some 6 months after having given her the details of one particular dream, when I arrived on the building site I had dreamt I was working on 6 months earlier.  I went home that day in a daze  because I couldn't imagine how it had all come to reality, when 6 months earlier it had been just a dream. I prompted my wife to recall, "The Building Site  Dream" as I had called it. I was stunned when she recounted all the details I had given her describing the building site, what I had seen and done in the dream, right down to the tiniest detail, which I had that day witnessed and done. I knew I had never been, physically, to the location of the site before, and the most compelling evidence of that fact was that six months earlier, the actual location of the building site had been in fact, a tract of grassland! The actual age of the building site when I had arrived that day was only 4 months old!

The dream itself was two-fold. I had met a man in spiritual form, ghost if you will, on that piece of grassland in the dream. I was required to lie down whilst he, slipped inside my body...if you will...for the purpose of using my mind, that LCD screen I spoke of earlier, to go back in his physical life when he was alive to recall happy memories, loved ones etc, as he had explained that in the spiritual world, the LCD screen in the brain died with the death of the physical shell. I was assured by another presence that this was safe for me to allow as the man had been "Vetted" and I was assured that no harm would come to me at all by allowing this process to take place. I found myself agreeing, and as I lay down on the soft grass, I lapsed into a dream of the building site. The most amazing aspect during this dream came to me whilst I lay there in my bed. I was aware I was lying on my bed dreaming about lying on the grass dreaming about myself  on the building site...and I could see all 3 scenes whilst I dreamt. In other words, I could see myself 3 times i.e. myself lying on the bed dreaming, myself lying on the grass dreaming about myself on the strange building site. The thing that grabbed me totally, was that there was another "Me" present in order to have observed the whole process, rather like I was the video camera filming all 3 scenes! Stranger than fiction! I hear you all say, but nonetheless, as true as I sit here writing all this. I can differentiate between awake and asleep and dreaming whilst asleep, have practised it for years.

I have never disclosed these events fully to anyone before, I did try once, many years ago, but the guy I was trying to explain it all to actually told me I needed to be measured up for one of those white jackets that tie-up around the back! So I have never bothered trying to explain to anyone since. In this case, telling you all about it is not so bad, because of the distance between us. You can either call me a nutcase, or agree to differ, or actually agree if you have had similar experiences, either way, the impersonality of it all allows me get on with it.

Over the years following, I had had 12 dreams in all, and each occasion as it arose, I gave my wife all the details of the dream I was particularly interested in, and bless her, she remembered all the details as I had asked her to do. As each event of Déjà-vu took place, I knew without doubt when conferring with my wife, that I had dreamt about the event either months, or some years earlier. My wife was my living proof that I had dreamt into the future due to the fact that I had already given her all the details of each dream. Had I have written down the information concerning each dream I could have been accused of having done so, after the fact, rather than before the fact, which to me the latter was so much more important in that my wife had all the details before the dreams came true and was in effect, my witness.

Sleep is more than a state when our bodies have time to re-charge our batteries. There is something, not necessarily more sinister, but most certainly more paranormal, going on other than that during our conscious state when we are fully awake throughout the day.  Many people reading what I have wrote so far would perhaps think me a madman; can't say that I could blame them for thinking of me this way if they have never experienced dreaming into the future, of events in which they played a part and had not recorded the dream, as I did, and later enacted that part in that very dream and able to prove the entire dream event prior to the enactment of it, much later.  What the sleep-state actually is besides the re-charging of our batteries, is certainly in my findings, not only paranormal, but multi-dimensional on a none-physical plain with a biological connection, which accesses our physical body and brain whilst we are asleep flashing up images of the dream on our biological LCD screen in the brain.

If I say to you, picture an idyllic landscape, rolling down-hill to the soft, white sands of a beach with palm trees dotted here and there, beyond which a blue-ish-green sea laps up lazily onto the sand with the hot sun beating down...what do you see? Or more's to the point...how do you picture the scene I have described? Yes, inside your brain is an LCD screen upon which you have just flashed the images of the description in order for you to actually see the scene in your own mind...something we all take for granted, eh? How amazing is this process when you really spend some time thinking about that very, organic,  biological process? When we put our minds to the task, it's amazing how we can display images, even those entirely borne out of imagination, onto this LCD screen and watch them come to life just as though we were playing a DVD, equally, as we can flash up images of actual footage of scenes we actually saw with our own eyes. Dreams are no exception to this rule. We dream the images during sleep, and only become aware they are images at all as soon as we flash them up on that organic, biological LCD screen whereat by morning when we awake, we remember some, or all of those images, and only then we become aware that we had been dreaming whilst we slept soundly. What an amazing video camera we have in our brain! What practical use would we have for an LCD screen in the brain if we had no video camera to shoot the footage to show on the screen? So, we now have not only an LCD screen, we also have a video recorder, VCR, on tap whenever we need it, inside our brain. Logically, what comes next? Yes, audio! Little voices in our mind, deep in the brain. It can be your own voice, the one you use when you actually speak, the voice of the person you can recall having told you something, indeed, any voice you choose. You can sing in your own mind, any song you wish to hear; "hear" being the operative word as we have little ears inside our own mind to hear those voices inside, chatting away about this, that and the other, singing, shouting, we can whistle inside our own minds too, create and re-create any noise or sound we like, anytime at all...is this not amazing?

So, we have in our brain a camcorder, a VCR, an LCD screen both monochrome and colour and a mono-stereo audio setup with microphones and speakers - biological ears -  sounds crazy does it not? But it is as true as you are who you are reading this little lot! How many of you have spent a great deal of time thinking about your super, panoramic, digital theatre surround sound DVD playback/record, home system inside your own brain? Perhaps not as much time as one would think, I hasten to add, as just one of our most human frailties is to take all this for granted. Whatever one would like to call this amazing ability within our brain to see graphic images moving or still, recall sounds - music for example - other people's voices as well as our own, tone for tone, the truth is, we all have this ability...even blind and deaf people!

In the dream I told you about earlier, I was asked to lay down whilst the spirit of a man was to enter my body for the purpose of using my home-system mentioned in the last paragraph, to enable him to recall those precious moments when he was alive, see those special, loved-ones again, hear their voices, visit his homeland and see it all again. Granted, it sounds absolutely  incredible, but I swear down, that is what took place in my dream. So, how was it done? I have spent a great deal of time pondering on how this could have been achieved. The conclusion I came up with is: when we die, the physical brain shuts down of course, so too does the home system die with it. Memories can be retained within the soul, if we first accept we have such a thing as a soul. When the spirit form connected with my physical body whilst I slept, the memories were played back on my home system in my brain, which he watched like being at the cinema.  The soul of the man was dependent upon my physical presence in order for him to use the playback mode of my home system to do what he needed to do as the process is not possible in spiritual form without the physical connection to the brain; is how I worked it out. It makes sense if you accept that this is the only way it can work and if you accept on face value what I have stated here actually happened during the dream I had. Hard to accept I know, but I cannot explain it any other way. The process during the event was one of careful management by the presence of what I can only term as a spiritual guide, from whom emanated an air of complete control and authority, in whom I appeared to have complete confidence that all would go well. I simply complied to their wishes and went into a dream as the process began.

The next part is: what happened when the spirit of the man switched on my home system? He went on to do what he needed to do. I, on the other hand, did not see whatever it was he was looking at, and here, I believe, is where the nub of the enigma of finding out exactly what I did see, and how this was done, is. What I saw, was me on a building site, however, the building site was built later on the site of the grass field where I lay in my dream. I can only conclude that some form of trade-off took place, for the want of a better analogy, a skip in time sent me to dream of what was to become of the tract of land i.e. an exchange made for me allowing the man to use my home system, or that another part of my brain became active and leapt into a time warp, if you will, by virtue of the fact that the part that would normally have been active for me, was otherwise busy and would have perhaps just shown the tract of grassy land, which in the end would have been one of those nonsense dreams. Another part of my brain became active instead, and perhaps a part of the brain included in the other 2 thirds we know little about, function-wise, is how I see it.

I cannot say it was all just a dream about nothing in particular, no meaning, just a silly dream, because it was not. The awareness of what was taking place as I slept, in that I mean I was fully aware I was actually dreaming whilst I dreamt, and not only that, I could see myself inside a dream inside another dream at the same time, is what I find more puzzling than anything else. I can rule out without a doubt, that when I arrived on the building site that morning, 6 months after having had the dream, I went through all the usual emotions regarding that feeling of Déjà-vu, and spent almost the entire day in a daze because the feeling was so strong, but I knew it had nothing to do with having lived another life in the past. When it did finally dawn on me that I had dreamt about it many months before, it was then that I knew the true meaning of Déjà-vu and I was secretly gloating with glee that I had had the insight to tell my wife the details of the dream 6 months before arriving on the site in the dream. That was the icing on the cake of Déjà-vu, for me, personally.  There you have it, Déjà-vu is having dreamed of personal involvement in a future event, not the past at all, and it's only when you arrive at the event in the future can you say, you dreamt about it in the past, being as it were, the only connection with the past at all!

The reason then for that feeling of Déjà-vu, when we think because we cannot explain why we think we have done the thing before, been there before, met a particular person before, appear to know what happened next, is because we could not remember the dream in which it all took place in the first instance. Thus, the key to Déjà-vu is learning to remember all the details of each dream we have, either to write down all the details as each dream occurs, or tell it all to your partner, close friend etc, as a way of proof before the event taking place.

I had over the years that followed the very first dream, 12 dreams of a similar nature, which all came true in that the events in which I dreamt I was a part of in each dream, actually took place in every detail a long time after having dreamt each dream including all the details, all of which I had related to my wife the very next morning as I awoke. The ability to remember all the details of each dream I have is not as simple as it sounds. It took a great deal of time to perfect and these days, I do it without even thinking. The most exciting and exhilarating dream I have ever dreamt, has nothing to do with Déjà-vu at all, rather to do with astral travelling, which I will outline on the page to do with astral travelling.

Many people will say I'm a nut-job, but I really couldn't care less. I know what took place, and what's more, my wife did also. I am to say the least, thankful she was there for me when it mattered so much later on, for had she not have been a witness before the fact, I would not have dared share all of this with anyone as the most important aspect of the lack of facts for me personally, would have made me keep my mouth firmly shut on the subject.
